Destinations : A five days cruise to visit the islands of
Kavaratti, Kalpeni and Minicoy by the ship M.V. Tipusultan.
Day 01: Arrival: Cochin
On
arrival at Cochin you will be greeted by our executive and transferred to
the hotel. In the afternoon proceed for a local tour of Cochin, visiting
the important places of tourist interest like the Jewish Synagogue, the
400-year-old synagogue, which is the oldest in the Commonwealth Countries.
The interiors have exquisite hand painted Chinese tiles and Belgian
Chandeliers. St. Francis Church - The first European church in India,
Chinese Fishing Nets - The huge, elegant fishing nets, The Dutch Palace -
built by the Portuguese in 1557and later occupied and renovated by the
Dutch. Over night stay at Cochin.
Day 02: Cochin - Lakshadweep Cruise
After breakfast, transfer to Warf to board the ship. Reporting time at
10.00 a.m. and departure time at 12 00 noon. Over night stay at the Ship.
Day 03: Arrival at Kavaratti Island.
Kavaratti is the Headquarters of the Administration and the most
developed island. The beautiful and calm lagoon offers an ideal spot for
water sports, swimming and snorkeling. Sunbathing or just lazing around on
the beach can be a heady experience. Marine life enthusiasts can visit the
marine aquarium, which has an excellent collection of aquatic specimens.
The multicolored underwater life in the lagoons can be viewed through
glass-bottomed boats. Kayaks, wind surfers and sailing boats are available
on hire. The Dolphin Dive Centre is an attraction for those who love scuba
dive. Over night stay at Ship.
Day 04: Arrival at Kalpeni Island.
Kalpeni along with two small islets of Tilakkam and Pitti and the
uninhabited island of Cheriyam in the north form a single atoll. A
peculiar feature of Kalpeni is a huge storm bank of coral debris along its
eastern and southeastern shorelines. It is a socially progressive island.
You can swim, snorkel or reef-walk in the vast lagoon and indulge in water
sports on kayaks, sailboats and pedal boats. Over night stay at ship.
Day 05: Arrival at Minicoy Island.
Minicoy is a bit isolated from the main group of islands. Minicoy has one
of the largest lagoons with a small-uninhabited islet Viringili on its
southern side. Minicoy is renowned for its tradition dance - the Lava
performed on festive occasions. Colorful race boats called "Jahadhoni"
are a feast to the eye of any tourist. Minicoy is an important center for
tuna fishing and a tuna-canning factory on the island processes the catch.
A 300-foot tall lighthouse built in 1885 by the British is a majestic
landmark. The beaches have bathing huts with change rooms and facilities
for water sports are available. Over night stay at ship.
Day 06: Lakshadweep - Cochin Cruise
Departure from the Island and on arrival at Cochin by noontime, get
transferred to the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day at leisure and
also rejuvenate your body and mind with our Complimentary Body Massage.
Day 07: Departure.
After morning breakfast, check out hotel and proceed to the airport for
your onward journey.
